Last Sunset in Bahrain

I wanted to do something for the new years but I am dog tired so I think I will sleep, plus I decided to take someones watch tomorrow so I will need my sleep anyway. I decided to get the first sunrise of the new year tomorrow but we will see how I'm feeling.

Goodbye 2007 I hope it was good for you too.

Silence isn't always golden
Sometimes Silence brings Pain
Like when all the sweat and tears
Are washed away by rain

Sometimes daylight is forsaken
By clouds from behind
Showing the lack of laughter
The children left behind

A crowd isn't always company
Only a manifestation of just One
Empty smile after another
Erased by the sun

Mistakes are made and then forgave
Like shifting of the sand
Left with the reality of watching,
Loyalties disband

Dark and light and Dark again
Who cares it's all amiss
Silence comes and steals
the difference of bliss

The sun is shining a bright new day
But silence claimed the light
Futility is all remains
for now the day is Night

Drop, Drop, drop the rain begins
No there is silence in sound
It echoes all around us
with no trace of its pound

No shuffle, No splat, no clickety clack
Of trains upon a rail
We all move on noisily
but silence still prevails

Open, close, open, close
the senselessness of mouths
They have said nothing
No spark have they aroused

The masses are forsaken
from silence and its wiles
No retreat or return to peaceful Noise
which brings the truest smiles

Cosmo, Women, Men and Sex

Warning This is one of those posts!!

I was roaming around the warehouse and I found the December issue of Cosmo in one of the boxes. Thanks to and the folks back home. So I grabbed it because I've been wanting to thumb through it. I wanted to read through the tidbits on the Deep Sex they were talking about. The article was mildly informative, which is what I usually find out when I read the articles in women's mags. Sometimes some interesting tidbits of female psyche come out, but most times it is just a rehashing of something someone wrote six months ago.

Then what got me thinking as I started thumbing through the magazines while looking at the ads was exactly how much sex was being talked about in this magazine. I became even more curious. There were TONS of articles dedicated to nothing but sex. Sex positions, sex problems, Kinky sex, sex toys, sex techniques, How to make him crazy about sex and on and on. So then I started looking at the photos because I'm interested in this whole photography scene and possibly taking it professional I start looking at technical things like lighting and angles and such, but then it struck me that there was one consistent thing that all of the women in the ads were being portrayed as saying. I want to get F@#ked. So I started looking at them and sure enough looking at each and everyone of them they all said the same thing. Hi my name is Candice I would like you to take me in the back and bend me over the table, cause I'm into that sort of thing. I mean these are all girl magazines, men don't normally read these magazines and unless there is a consortium of lesbians that exclusively read women popular magazines I can't understand why all of the ads depicting women in them would have this sultry tone. This come hither big daddy look to them all, and I do mean all, every single one of them. Dedicated to the sole purpose of the act of procreating (sans actual procreation) with your man. I mean is it like an advertisement " Oh dang man she just got finished reading that issue of Cosmo you know she wants to screw now, I gotta go man you better buy your girl an issue of Cosmo." I mean really.

So then I thought deeper about this. Either A there are a S#!tTon of women out there that are completely and utterly dissatisfied with their love life or B the Publishers are all men and really want to make it keystart easy to get laid, or C there have been tons of psychiatrists that have studied the female psyche and know that sexually women are vindictively competitive. I think that it is a culmination of all three. So I counted the number of sex articles on the Cover alone, there are more in the actual magazine. There are 6 references to Sex and getting some on the cover. I then looked through a stack of Men's magazines that my roommates have in the bathroom (I know the yeah right is coming, but seriously magazines are expensive and I'm cheap so they aren't mine). There are 2 copies of Barely Legal (a Hustler full hardcore pornography magazine), 2 Playboy's Pornography again, 2 FHM, 1 GQ, 1 Fantasy (Fantasy football), 1 Men's Health, 1 Loaded and a covergirl magazine of some type. The maximum references to sex on the cover in the hardcore mag was 4. In playboy 2. In all the other men magazines possibly 1 maximum 2. Flipping through the magazines at product advertisements NONE of the ads depicted women in come hither poses, with the exception of the Porn mags that were actually selling sex products. Going there I would have to say that 95% of the facial expressions posed on women in Porn mags were the exact expressions found on the women posing for ads or article spreads in Cosmo including the cover.

So then I had to start really thinking about the whole picture, about women and their sexual self awareness or authority (not really the word I'm looking for), but their bravado or ego that thing that defines them as woman. This thing as I have observed is the thing that makes women desire to be on a stage the center of attention the superego of woman, this however is very fragile, and so I slowly thinking upon it all came to the conclusion that women are in a constant state of competition with every other woman in existence, except those who choose to remove themselves from this constant rat race, but even in very stable autonomous women this desire to be out in front can be seen. They want to be on stage as long as no one laughs or calls them out on anything or worse yet another woman takes the stage. So I can see if we assume this is the natural state of women that a polygamous relationship will always be a source of turmoil because the field becomes super expanded to cover many individual acts of life. Cooking, cleaning, mothering, sex all aspects of life bring the natural competition of women to a constant in your face type of reality. However in Non Polygamous relationships there is only the hope that what you have is fully satisfactory, because if you listen to Cosmo and the like there is always something else you are supposed to be doing and presumably if you don't start there is some other chick that is dying to do so.

Anyway that is what I thought about when I read the issue of Cosmo. How far off am I?

So to be fair I had to keep thinking. So I thought why this great difference between women's and Men's magazines? So I had to think about the men's magazines and in them you will find things, status symbols that represent power and wealth. Cars, expensive items and fine clothing, Real Estate, Business and articles on how to win defeat, dominate or some other way to summarily rise to a point of prominence. Sex although present is a side note in the corner of the magazine neatly tucked away amongst the rest of the guy stuff that is being presented. There are no Men Magazines that devote article after article to sex and relationships. Most things are related to dominating and acquiring stuff. There is even a magazine called stuff for men. In Men's magazines you will find pictures of men showing off this bravado this I have arrived air and don't you want to too you fat slovenly pile of crap. I know you wish you could be me. Because I am the way that I am I have the woman that I want and the next week I will have one better than her, because I got it like that. These are the types of articles that you find prominently displayed in men's magazines.

So then I would have to say that it would define the way that men define themselves, quantify themselves actually. Growing up it wasn't ever a focus on the quality of relationship that you could have with a woman, but the quantity and this game lasts until it fully runs its course in the life of a man, but the less desirable men I would suppose would move past this shallow reality of life sooner because women and or things aren't thrown at their feet.

So then getting into the psyche of a man it would seem that primarily the focus is based in the material, because materials are what define the quality of life you and your family can live and how you measure up to other men. Depending on the circle of Men that a man is attached to there is a material focus that defines them. Whether that be education, video games, cars or women there is a material focus that defines the man in the circle.

So then that would leave the last topic of SEX. For men primarily I believe that sex is an extension of power, prowess, ability and domination. If you look at all of the come hither looks of the women in Cosmo their sex is subdued by their partner. They are completely encased in their lover, subject to his every whim. They are helpless waiting intently on the moment that HE comes and takes them satisfying his every urge and leaving her throbbing in every sensual satisfaction. If you look at the ads in the Men's magazine it oozes of power and the ability to sway any woman to the whims of his Sex at his desire, on his schedule and as he sees fit. The financial power is astounding and the style is set to invoke envy.

Looking back into this lifestyle and even now (as I can really only speak for myself) sexual domination is the extension of manhood. The James Bond ability to satisfy women at every session and leave them begging and wanting their shining knight to take complete control. (This of course is an over generalization) For men with sex, it is all about control and domination. Sometimes this may or may not include the satisfaction of the woman. This control looking at it can actually go either way with or without satisfaction of the woman. In both there is an aspect of control. If when the man is engaged the woman is in deep throws of passion to the point that she will do anything he wants he is in control, or if the woman completely dislikes what is happening but is powerless to do anything about it he is in control. In both circumstances there is a kind of domination. I suppose this can be divided into pleasure and pain. The man that dominates with pleasure is the one that insists on the woman having multiple orgasms and going as long as he can until she's at his mercy begging for clemency. The man that dominates with pain instills fear and powerlessness upon his victim and sex is sometimes involved. I would suppose that in this there can be an understanding of men and multiple women. It all boils down to control and power.

For women looking at the magazines it would seem that their power comes from their ability to make men submit to them through their transmission of sex. I.E. I know you want to F#&k me so now you must do my bidding. If you look at the Power transmission in the ads the woman's power is strictly defined by her sex, never mind that she has 3 PHds and made 4.8 million dollars last year that is not the portrayal of her power. If a woman has seized a man's power and has come into a power of her own and independent then she is shunned by men and women. Hillary Clinton is an excellent example. Her personification is an open expression of Raw Female Power. She is a very powerful woman no doubt, however sexually she is bankrupt. Looking at her from an outside perception. She is no longer attractive and has become old, and psychologically in this country she doesn't appeal to the younger crowd as she isn't looked at as a nurturing figure or sexy figure in our sex sells economy. She has no sex to sell so dealing with her would mean you would have to do it on an intellectual, business equal level which only has the power as far as a females credibility and resources can take her. So unfortunately from the male side you have a lot of "that bitch" type remarks concerning her, as you would of any powerful female without any sex to sell. They are naturally seen as an adversary.

In a materialistic world everything boils down to its base elements. Sex becomes a physical act like basketball or soccer without any real weight on who the opponent is man, woman, animal, toy. Emotional bonds become windows of opportunity strung together to achieve the next rung of success. A void of spirituality leads to intense depression, loneliness and denial and a world of constant accumulation of worthless junk to deafen the sound of spiritual chaos. Hopefully in a couple of days I will write about true depth of a relationship that includes the spiritual that gets past the material and petty competitions of commerce inspired life and all of the drama that it inflicts.

Mom what were you thinking?

I've always known my Mom not to have any problems with polygamy, but tonight was mildly uncomfortable whilst on the phone with her discussing my children's possibility of risk for diabetes, she suggested that I take my ex-wife for a co-wife was more than awkward. I know that my Mom really isn't concerned so much with the relationship aspect as she is of keeping all of her children and grandchildren close by. She is really only concerned about the children having their father in their lives more so than my marital-communal bliss. It however was very weird and when I thought about it, it became even more unnerving. I don't hate my ex-wife (I used to make myself hate her), but I don't think I could take her back as a wife either. There are way too many emotions and issues there that really weren't resolved and so it was just tied off and left, and we learned to accept that.

I couldn't do it anyway as it would be totally unfair as I said before, because I'm head over heels in love with my wifee. So I just sat there on the phone feeling kind of oogee at the suggestion. I feel safe that my Mom wouldn't bring such nonsense up to my ex-wife though, but still it felt strange. A close friend of my Mom's son has two wives so she may have delusions of grandeur. So I urge Sakinah to be quiet, cause I know my Mom and she would probably bring home some poor puppy dog girl (religiously sound of course) and ask me to pop out some more grandkids.

Al Assab

I have been meaning to do this piece for quite sometime. Assab is defined by Al-Krenawi as a nervous state including anxiety and tension.

Al-Krenawi, Alean, Graham, John R., Al-Krenawi, Salem
Child & Adolescent Social Work Journal; Dec97, Vol. 14 Issue 6, p445-458, 14p
Social Work Practice with Polygamous Families.
Al-Krenawi and other social workers/ psychologist also state that somitatization, poor appetite and low self-esteem are also typical accompaniments to polygamy.

I want to speak on this anxiety and tension thing which I believe is unilaterally tied into the low self-esteem issue. My wife and I have went around the polygamy tree twice now and both times were rent with inner turmoil and strife and I have made some observations and deductions on what are the inner problems emotionally for women with polygamy. The obvious argument would be for men to see how it would be if the shoe were on the other foot however Allah didn't work it out that way so it is something that you would have to take up with Him.

The first time around the polygamy bush the major emotional issues for my wife were exclusion, being left outside of the inner part of me to the loss of someone else. The second time there were the same fears however more intense. There was an intense fear of loss of those things that are deeply rooted in our relationship that we hold dear. Things like pet names, phrases, family rituals. She was continually threatened by the encroachment of things that we call our own. The personal stuff. This may have been exacerbated by the model we chose where all wives live together and there was a mutual communal effort dedicated to building a stronger family.

However the anxiety I noticed was formed in a threat or perceived threat of losing ones place. This I have noted in Aiesha (RAH) the mother of the believers and my otherwise very confident wife. The connection and strength of our marriage was no match to the fears of losing place and being thrust into a constant state of competition to be the favorite. To be the alpha, secure and superior one. This isn't the way men do it, because men probably more naturally resort to violence which is probably in Allah's wisdom to make this arrangement one way instead of a unilateral type of marriage arrangement.

Women will apparently go into this state of constantly vying for the number one position which in turn leads to the psychosomatic problems that were listed at the beginning of this post. Now on my blog I really don't try to claim that I know what is going on in women's heads, that would be stupid instead I try to give a masculine perspective on men women relationships so that women who read my blog can have some kind of clue to what may be going on in the heads of their mates. Furthermore since most women do not, or probably not have close communication relationships with men, I feel that my point of view may be of vital importance for them putting it all together.

My quest for polygamy has passed, I have fully come to the conclusion that I would never be able to be fair because I love my wife way too much. So it would be pointless to put them both through such grief unnecessarily. I did want to let you all know though for me it was never an issue of my first wife losing her position to the second. It wasn't a replacement of one for the other. It was just different, and I believe that this is the way that men (I can only specifically speak for myself) categorize relationships. Each relationship is based on its own merit. Especially where women are concerned. Each relationship is placed into its own tiny box and compartmentalized as relationship A, relationship B etc. The relationships do not affect each other except in the terms of material resources that they use. Men are single tracked, goal oriented, point to point beings. One activity does not automatically blend with the next. Each activity is its own entity. When you are at work all of your focus is at work, when you are at home all of your focus is at home, or should be. When you are watching the game or a movie that is where all of your focus is as a man. This isn't the same for women. Women's activities blend into several multitasking situations. They watch TV while cooking dinner and talking on the phone. I can't do that. Either I'm on the phone, watching TV or cooking dinner and don't ask me to "multi-task" while doing a single activity. This leads to frustration.

So in this plural marriage thing whatever wife A does for the man is viewed completely independent of wife B, because men can only process one relationship at a time and the most significant is what was the last significant memorable event. Why because this is how men's memories work. whenever I get into an argument with my wife and she recalls something from the past I have to say if that is how you remember it that is the way it is, but I am not going to argue on that point I can only argue on what is present in front of me right now. Because frankly 9 times out of 10 I won't remember what you were wearing on that day or what I said three months ago on this day.

The problem with coping with polygamy aside from men not doing it right is viewing the relationship like a woman or at least your husbands side of the relationship because he doesn't see it the same way as you do, or at least I wouldn't. When I started working on this post I began to think about what are the points of binding for men that make a relationship what it is. I can say unilaterally that it is not sex. Although sex is very important for men in a relationship it is not what binds a man in a relationship, and it is not held as personal and special by a man as it is by women. There have been studies that show that perfectly loving husbands can sleep with women other than their wives and then go back to them as nothing has ever happened. There are also relationships where there is something very wrong with the relationship that this happens in also and I am not trying to rule that out or make an excuse for this behavior but what I am saying is sex isn't the magic key when it comes to men. For me the binding of the relationship is first the commitment to the relationship. Love doesn't come until sometime thereafter even if there is a strong personal attraction. Beauty, sex, wealth, nor Deen is the magic glue that is the relationship for a man. It is something deeper than that. It comes somewhere between sacrifice and deep trust and respect. In relationships where these are absent or there are significant communications issues then the reality of the true relationship can become skewed. It is probably during this time that many impatient men do something stupid.

I don't think that the anxiety of being in a polygamous relationship will ever really fully pass, and I believe that the ease of coping with it depends entirely on the man. I think that over time it decreases, as the reality of knowing that your husband is happy with what he has with you and with what he has with her becomes more manifest assuming he makes it this pleasant. I think that if you are in a relationship of this type there are a few key things to remember. Your husband's happiness is directly linked to his last pleasurable memory, your husband's relationship with another woman in his mind is completely separate from your relationship and in his mind chances are you are not in a contest, his love for you hasn't changed. Possibly only his behavior because of the stresses that each wife places on him and are probably primarily materially based.

10,000!!! Whoo hoooo!!!

And to think I missed it. Grr. Oh well I guess we are on to the next milestone. I wonder if I can beat Safa to 100,000. Probably not with only posting once or twice a month what is up with that. I don't know but Insha Allah I will get more on the ball. Peace, Love, Hairgrease out to KNB and Back and out and back and well you get the picture.

Tent City

The bedoins are out there in the sands of Kuwait living in their tent cities. I have heard that they do this every winter to remember the old ways. They don't come out in the summer cause it is way too hot. So they are all out there now roughing it with 1500Kw generators massive light displays and A/C cooled/warmed tents. Nothing like getting back to basics Eh?.

Hitting 10,000

I keep looking at my little counter over there and wondering what day will it hit 10,000 I suppose it will be a milestone, and that will be cool. I just got back from Kuwait today and it is cold up there. Not Wisconsin cold but compared to driving with the oven on full blast and open in your face to 49 degrees outside it is cold. What is that like 19 degrees Celsius or something? Ah no it is 9.44444444444 something why Americans hold on to these archaic measurement standards is truly beyond me. I think the rest of the world should force imports on us so we will finally get the message. You know what it is right. We have all this old crap and nostalgia freaks insist on keeping it around. I say if you want to rebuild your 57 Chevy do it with metric parts so that we can frigging move on.

Where was that going? I don't know really. I was supposed to go and get this shot that I have been envisioning but I stayed up too late reading my email so my curfew has come in. Oh well. Maybe tomorrow night or even after Fajr. That might be cool. I will show you what it looks like. I'm learning a lot about photography. I may turn this into a photo blog, but if I do I will have to go black so my blog will be changing again. This skin is only temporary anyway. I like it but I want to do a little bit more with it artistically.

What in the world is this? Yes Christmas is in full swing here in Bahrain. I suppose when you really get down to it from a financial standpoint Christmas really means sales and with so many western corporations here in the gulf there really isn't a way to effectively stop it, but when it is displayed on public property like this is in the airport terminal I think it is going too far.

I Love this shot

This is a great shot that I made the other night shooting. It was a beautiful full Moon. The next full moon I hope to grab it off the balcony of this place. I have said that I am going to start hitting the rooftops around Manama, but we have a really stupid curfew imposed so I probably won't be able to get anything. I have some serious practicing to do if I am going to make money off of Photography. I priced some gear and for studio stuff that I know I can get paid for it priced out to $4,000 some of the stuff I was planning on buying anyway like the Nikkor 12 - 24mm lens and the 18 - 200mm VR Nikon lens, but now I have some additional stuff to buy. I think I will try to sell some of the stuff that I can do without the extra equipment first. We will see. It means I will have to be out there getting the shots and putting together a portfolio. There are a couple of photo buffs stationed here with me so I will be able to get some hands on training here and there and maybe even borrow some lights. I am borrowing a friends D200 and learning how to use it, but I still love my D40.

Busy Busy Busy!!!

I've been wanting to post but I have been busy. I've come up with a thousand anecdotes and tidbits on life but no time to post them. So I'm stealing some time from work to write this little blurb. You can expect some more from me in the future, and hopefully some more beautiful shots. So we will see how it all pans out. Until I actually have time to sit down and write something toodles.

Photography vs. Art

I've been reading over at Ken Rockwell's spot reading his world renown advice "Your Camera has Nothing to do with it." I've read it before but this time it made me start thinking, I've been doing a lot of photography, but I haven't really been doing my passion of photographic art, well yes and no. I have taken a million cliche pictures. Sunsets and pictures of buildings that most anyone can take. However reading this article again made me think that there is a difference between photography and art. I will show you some examples of what I'm talking about from my collection. I suppose in the end it is all about the perspective of the viewer for some they may view it as a picture and for others they may view it as art. I can only distinguish what I think is Art from what I think is Photography. I have decided to start selling some of my photos while I am here so that I can get in the practice of what is done. I do however often fall into the pit of all of my images not being good enough. So I will share some images and you can tell me what you think is it Art or just Photography?

This is my favorite picture of Mina, but I would consider this Art because it is a picture that captures you and you have to look at it. I love this picture.

I have one of each of my daughters that I love, this is Niama on the same day I would also consider this one myself to be art even though she has a runny nose.

This last one is of Sabira it has been photoshoped but I love the way that it came out. I suppose that the difference between Photography and Art is how it grips you so that you have to keep looking at it and studying it. Those shots are hard to find a lot of times.

I love candids more than anything like this next shot of me leaving I would call photography.

And this one with me and the falcon I would call photography also.

This one is a great picture of a minaret of the Grand Mosque but I would also call it Photography cause I can't see someone using it as a screensaver or placed on their desk at work or anything like that unless this particular minaret held a specific emotional value.

This burned out Dhow I would also consider photography because it doesn't jump out and grab you and there aren't any reflective properties to it.

This sunrise I'm not so sure. It has qualities of tranquility and reflection.

This one taken the same day I would lend more to the Artsy side.

This one I struggled to get but still to me it just screams photography.

This one I would call Art, but it is debatable.

This however is definitely Photography.

This one I would lend closer to art.

These cats were fighting and they were interrupted by my shutter flash allowing the black and white one to escape. I would consider this one to be art.

These are all of the pictures that I am sharing today. I have to start going through my Bahrain pictures so that I can see which ones are worth producing and trying to get them sold. This means I'm going to have to start farting around in Photoshop which has a massive learning curve but once you master it you can literally write your own resume into any job dealing with photography.

Morning Reflection

I love the setting or rising sun. This sun is rising. It is strange that both events look very similar. For great sunsets I often have to go to the other side of the Island. I now have borrowed a friends D200 and I will attempt to get an unblurred picture of the Sunset Dhows again. I have so many it is ridiculous but I don't have the 1 that I am trying to get. I have a couple of sunset shots that I want to try to get. hopefully I can get the ones that I want. It is getting crazy because I have over 4 gigs in photos but I haven't thoroughly sorted them yet. I am going to burn them to DVD for an Archive copy and then cull the rest down to the ones worth keeping. I don't know why I keep them all even the bad blurry ones that you can't make anything out in but I have started not importing everything. I haven't updated my photo albums yet. I hope to do that soon too.

Yes Hawking I don't know if that is the correct term but I had never seen it before and unfortunately I didn't get there earlier or stay there much after these pictures because it was Maghrib time and I was just shooting and had to go. I think only one picture turned out pretty decent in it all, but it was cool to watch.

Bills, Bills, Bills!!!

Why the pretty picture you ask? Calm in the midst of Chaos. Ok things aren't all that bad but they aren't exactly going the way that I had hoped that they would go either. The plan was A. I would come over here and get first pick of wherever we would go next. That has been accomplished. Next was we would pay off all of our debts and go to our next station Debt-Free. Well that isn't going so well. It is amazing how many $2,000 emergencies you can have back to back to back. Had we not had any of them we would be well ahead of the game but $1,000 to $2,500 emergencies keep popping up. First it was the car then the dentist then the HOA fee, then court costs then the car then the furnace goodness. "You got to realize it's a test, it's a test, it's a test" but seriously it makes you want to say "Fu**" and several other expletives so here we are in the middle of this test. It can get better or worse, Alhamdulillah we can pay all of our bills in around the time they are supposed to be paid. Sometimes we are not that successful and we fall behind, but Alhamdulillah no more than a month and not on the Mortgages so yay, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah. So I have to say and list the benefits of Allah on us so that I don't pick up a gun and go and shoot my creditors one by one so that I can have a fresh start. It's not the bills I'm concerned with it is the consumer debt. I hate it with a passion. It is like whenever you think your credit is going to be ok then WHAMOLA some new crap to deal with. I often fall into the refrain of if it wasn't this it would be something else, but man is it ever frustrating. So to cheer myself up I decided to come up with 100 reasons I should be thankful for our current situation. I don't have them all now so this will be a post in progress. Maybe take a couple of suggestions from my blurkers.

1. We are capable of paying our bills every month.
2. My wife figured out that I don't just spend all of her money as soon as she makes it.
3. We don't want any more credit.
4. If we don't add anything new we will be done in about 5 years.
5. If we rent the houses we will be done in about 5 months.
6. Insha Allah the houses will grow in equity so in about 5 years we will have a nice reward.
7. Discomfort. Discomfort is a great motivating factor essential for change. We are definetely motivated to change the state we are in.
8. We have realized the need to not splurge in spending. i.e. buying stuff with going to be making money rather than already made money.
9. We still have our health.
10. We still have our love.
11. We are still happy.
I will pause for the cause here and I will add some more later Insha Allah.
12. The enticement of polygamy has greatly decreased.
13. It was a blessing that we didn't go through with the P option because I would be incredibly stressed out right now and it would have created an almost unbearable amount of pressure on all relationships.
14. I can see some progress being made.
15. I know that I am powerless to advance my state regardless of how hard I try, unless there is an approval from Allah Subhannahu Wa Ta'Ala. Because theoretically we were making over $10,000 a month and that is a lot to be making and not being able to put a dent in your debt.
16. I pray for Afia. (Mercy and a break from the current torment, Forgiveness)
17. The knowledge that my family is more important to me than financials. Although I do hope and pray to get out of debt sometime in my lifetime.
18. I can recognize what is going on spiritually.

Only in the Gulf

Only here will you see a $170,000 Lexus LF on display just because. This is not something that you normally see in the states. I'm surprised that they don't have Ferraris and Lamborghinis on display. Only here have I seen $100,000+ cars driven like Toyotas and Hyundais. Must be nice I suppose.

What were they thinking

I don't know what these guys were thinking when they made this sign. Maybe they didn't check with someone who speaks english. I think the next time I am over there I will ask them. I've been taking a lot of pictures these last two days and my internet is jacked so I don't know if I will be able to upload them onto my picture site or not, and I don't even know if my album is still linked I will have to check that.

No School for me

I dragged my feet and now I can't go to school this term. Uggh So now I will have to do something different. So I will CLEP Introduction to Psychology and American Government. That will give me my 6 credits for this term and that will also max out my CLEPable credits. I can't really CLEP anything after those two. Cause it is all upper level and dang-it UMUC doesn't take credit for courses tested out of. Grrr. So Oh well. Life goes on.

I have to get ready for my advancement exam anyway. I have to get all of my recommendations signed off so that I can sit for the advancement exam. I hope to make the next level of pay. I have some revolutionary ideas of how I want to lead my next shop. When I get there I plan to be a Chief. So that is what is going on.

The weather is getting good here in Bahrain. Not so hot anymore more like an average day in VA except the sun is always shining. Love. Well now that I'm blogging again my visits have dwindled under the 30 mark. So at this rate I won't hit 10,000 hits until later this year sometime. Aww man and I thought I was popular. Oh well.

I was looking around and I saw that PM moved her page. I like it I thought it was cool. She had this article about a girl being killed in an honor killing and it is sad to say and I am truly disgusted at my self for feeling this but my reaction was its a statistic. There was a social study done about the sensationalism of words and how they lose their sensationalism. Like if I was to overuse the word horrible. The more you heard it the less extreme it would be and it works both ways awesome, incredible, extraordinary become less so the more the words are bombarded into our heads on a daily basis. This leads me to believe that our world will be destroyed by apathy.

Islam comes to wake people out of the state of glazed eyes however for this to happen one must have an awakening and also have the type of personality that is unstoppable. That combination can wake other people out of the state of "Oh that's horrible... What's for dinner." Or "Oh that's terrific dear... I need to arrange my sock drawer." Existence apathy. The programmed responses of an automated life where nothing in the world means anything until it affects our own personal comfort. And how can you really be moved? How hard is it to be moved to action when daily your emotions and senses are bombarded with hundreds of images of injustice in the world? You can't solve them all. People go crazy concerning themselves with everything that they become essentially ineffective. Wow. The only solution is to have a working knowledge of a fight you feel is worth fighting and fight that fight. Whether it is free the rainforest, end world hunger, women's and children's rights or saving the whales. Each task requires a complete effort. If you take on more than one chances are you have taken on too much. However you can give fifty cents to many and help out that way.

Subhannallah. You are held responsible only for yourself.

St. John's Bay Performance tee

I have got to give a shout out to this Tee shirt. If you want to know my wardrobe it is T-Shirt and Jeans. That's all I wear. Ever. Well recently I was given a T-Shirt because I had to take off my other favorite shirt that depicted a brother praying on it because it was against Navy Regs and I can understand. This isn't necessarily the place where Bible Thumping shirts or Wicken shirts would be openly accepted so the Navy is just being fair across the board. Just as they are with the usage of the word Nigger. No one can say it, African American or not. Anyway I digress. I was given this shirt in place of the other one and I instantly fell in love with it. It is my favorite shirt. It has no print on it just a plain gray shirt but Oh my goodness it is the softest most comfortable thing I have ever had the pleasure of wearing around all day. I love it. I want to buy like fifty when I go home. Long and short sleeves. I love this shirt. It is Sooo soft and comfy it is like wearing sleepy clothes all day long. Anyway I just wanted to give that shout out to the shirt. Apparently it is a line of JCPenny so you can get one there. I highly recommend this shirt experience. Love it. Peace.

Dog the Bounty Hunter says Nigger

Ok honestly I really don't care that Dog said Nigger. In this day and age how can you honestly blame anyone for saying nigger. There are cream of the crop white people calling each other nigger this day and age. It is everywhere in the movies, on the radio, in comedy and definitely definitely in rap music. I say if you are not going to bust 50 cent, DMX and just about everybody else earning money in the entertainment industry for saying Nigger then you can't bust Dog. That is just my personal opinion. Nigger has become such a widely used word that it is really becoming ridiculous to fault anyone saying nigger. So if you are white and you LOVE DMX you can't roll down the street playing My Niggaz? Come on. I'm not saying that racism isn't out there and people don't use it in the original demoralizing context but if you quantify the use of nigger over any other supposedly demoralizing phrase it is the one that has been accepted and embraced by an unfortunate multitude of people so much so that the word has transcended race and teeters on being defined as something completely different than the insult that it started out as. In fact anyone who uses in that context is quickly moving toward insulting themselves as an ignorant racist.

That said there are unfortunately places in this country where it retains its original meaning in all of its ignorant bliss. Jena Louisiana for instance. So that is my take. What do you think?

Duane "Dog" Chapman: I don't care if she's a Mexican, a whore or whatever.
It's not because she's black, it's because we use the word ni**er sometimes
here. I'm not gonna take a chance ever in life of losing everything I've worked
for for 30 years because some fucking ni**er heard us say ni**er and turned us
in to the Enquirer magazine. Our career is over! I'm not taking that chance at
all! Never in life! Never! Never! If Lyssa [Dog's daughter] was dating a ni**er,
we would all say 'fuck you!' And you know that. If Lyssa brought a black guy
home ya da da... it's not that they're black, it's none of that. It's that we
use the word ni**er. We don't mean you fucking scum ni**er without a soul. We
don't mean that shit. But America would think we mean that. And we're not taking
a chance on losing everything we got over a racial slur because our son goes
with a girl like that. I can't do that Tucker. You can't expect Gary, Bonnie,
Cecily, all them young kids to [garbled] because 'I'm in love for 7 months' -
fuck that! So, I'll help you get another job but you can not work here unless
you break up with her and she's out of your life. I can't handle that shit. I
got 'em in the parking lot trying to record us. I got that girl saying she's
gonna wear a recorder...

Tucker Chapman: I don't even know what to say.

I'm Sorry but this is funny!

I love the last one. My girls are almost free to date with that one.

Grrr I took out AdSense and I jacked up my blog

I should have known better than to cut out sections of my template without creating a backup copy. Now I will probably have to start all over again. Grr!! I will try to do it the lazy way first but I suppose it was time to change my blog a bit anyway.

Hello Muslim Websites

AsSalaamu A'laikum Muslim Webmasters,

This is an open letter to Muslim Webmasters. I warn you in choosing your site for hosting. If it is a free site with banner ads please don't use this medium because you have no control over what is being advertised on your site. In your content you will be talking about Allah Subhannahu Wa Ta'ala and in the side bar they will be marketing dildos or something else that we as Muslims find offensive or something that is just genuinely embarrassing or does not shed a light on Islam very well. The Ads are random and they do not stay the same all the time so I may not see the same Ad that someone in Chicago is seeing or that you are seeing for that matter depending on the sophistication of the marketing plan. However the fact remains that you have no control over what is being marketed. So unless you are truly trying to sell Larry's Skanky Sex toys I would suggest taking down the auto Ads.

Here is a million dollar Idea create a web ad plug-in that specifically caters to Muslim and non-Muslim offensive businesses and then offer it for free for Muslims to download and place on their sites for a small fee (for the advertisers not the websites) and then you can control the content seen on Muslim websites that want to collect money from random advertisments.

Ashadu An Laillaha Illallahu Wa Ashadu anna Muhammadan Abduhu Wa Rasululhu

I bear witness that there is No Deity worthy of worship except Allah Subhannahu Wa Ta'Ala and I bear witness that Muhammad is His Servant and Messenger.

This is the fourth Jumuah that I have missed in a row and it feels that Allah is trying to tell me something. A wake up call of sorts. The first three were work related and even though I could have almost made the last one I was prevented from doing so. This Jumuah I swapped watches so that I could go and I was so tired after I got off of watch overslept. Actually I stood watch from 0000 to 0400 and then I had to do some paperwork. I got home went and stayed up until Fajr walked to the mosque (I love that by the way) for Salaat at 0454 went and made Fajr came home took a nap was awakened at 0808 by someone telling me that I was supposed to be on watch but I wasn't because I switched. Then called my guy for something that he has to do, stayed up until he arrived, went over with him what he was supposed to do. Went back to sleep to be woken up by that guy 4 more times with trivial bits of information. Was woken up 3 more times by other work related matters. My Alarm finally went off at 1030 I pressed stop instead of snooze, slept 70 minutes exactly in a completely restful sleep woke up by the grace of Allah saw that I had missed Jumuah again. Went to the masjid as people were streaming out and prayed Zuhr. Aoothubillahi Minashaytan Ir Rajeem. I pray that this never happens again.

So I thought maybe I needed to be kicked out of the religion in order to come back in. You know that whole missing 3 Jumuahs in a row thing. Well this would make 4 so I have declared my faith and now I will start my Deen over Insha Allah looking at the things I have been doing wrong and correct them. Insha Allah. I think the kicker was when my friend texted me a couple of days ago with this: "Will a man's sins affect his family? The consequences of sins committed by the sinner may go beyond him to affect his family, as a punishment for him and a test for his family. Allah tests man with disasters in order to expiate for his sins, and Allah may test people with blessings. Allah Says: "We Shall make a trial of you with evil and with good."[Al-Anbiya 21:35]" So maybe this is why the heat at my home is not working and my family is freezing this winter. Maybe this missing of Jumuah's was a reminder harshly for me to watch my step, and Allah knows best, however I submit.

Jena 6: The forgetting stage.

The news bulbs have started to fade and with 5 of the 6 facing serious charges 4 spirited out of the limelight to be tried as adults all energy as faint as it is is focused on Mychal Bell. As for the other four they are free to get system raped as news coverage fades. It has moved to the responsibility of the blogger to move and keep eyes on this issue to insure justice is done in this issue. Do something to help go out and purchase any periodical that has Jena 6 coverage in it.

The difference between a candle and a firecracker is endurance. Firecrackers make a big bang like this rally attended by notables, but the true test is to keep the heat on like a candle. Candles can be weak but they can also tip over and set the whole house on fire.

Ouch!! That pole is going to move!

I'm sorry for making Kuwait seem like a morbid place it really isn't, but one of the pastimes that we experience going to and from base is the intensity of the accidents that happen. Like this one for instance, how could you not see that pole there? The problem is that most drivers regardless of age a lot of times drive like our teenagers. There is really no speed limit per se, but a good thing when we were leaving we saw the cops pull some people over so we will see how it will develop over the next couple of years. This particular accident has been on display for about a month. Normally they leave them in place for 2 weeks so that the souls can find their way out. That's what I was told.

This is the wall where Saddam shot the Kuwaiti Naval Officers. I took this on my latest jaunt to Kuwait. Since I have been up there and talking to people I find that he really was an awful person. He killed a lot of people for absolutely no reason at all. I told you all that I would post something this week and well it has as Safa predicted been a week. I don't want to go much more than that.

Someone queried me today about who I thought was more at fault for American slavery and I had to say that I felt that neither the buyers or sellers were ultimately at fault because I don't. I think that it was an institution that was in place and those that were involved had no idea of the far reaching effects that it had. Just like drug dealers today really don't look into the moral implications of their trade. They are guilty for purporting and carrying on genocide, however the factors around the drug trade aren't always that black and white. However those who mistreated their slaves were those who were ultimately faulty. Had the slaves came over here and been treated humanely allowing them to keep their families and religion in tact then African Americans as a whole would not be in the massive state of disarray (AND THAT IS AN OVER EXAGGERATION) that we are. I went on to tell him that I would rather slavery still be an institution than the gross wholesale slaughter that is going on in the African continent today. At least with slavery there is sparing of life and some semblance of hope. As far as Muslims would be concerned there would at least be an opportunity to free a slave and educate that person so that they could effect change in the country that they were sold out of.

Back to that drug dealer analogy. If it is looked at from a capitalistic standpoint the drug trade is only a tool that the capitalist machine uses to subjugate a people. It is no secret that most of the war on drugs efforts are highly concentrated in the impoverished community. It is an extensive formidable business. In several parts of the country it is an economy sustaining endeavor. In those places the efforts of clearing out the problem aren't that extensive or the police force is so overrun they can't possibly contain it.

I look at each problem of the American experience as a tool in one way or another and there can be multiple arguments pro and con on most issues. However I take the stance that there is a knowledgeable power base that is systematically using it's resources to keep certain populations from realizing the American dream.

OKay OKay I'm in deep thought

Goodness you leave for just a little bit to sink in to solitary bliss and peeps have got to get in your face. Love it.

So what in the world is going on? Nothing much I'm just thinking about the next million dollar idea and the way that my finances are going it looks like I will have to get off of my but and make one and bring it to market. I think it is Allah's way of telling me to get off of my butt and do some work with my brain that He gave me. Luckily I don't have to reinvent the wheel I just have to package it up and sell it.

I Will write a little more later.

yes this week sheesh!

Opening the Discourse on Polygamy

I would like to open a discourse here on polygamy. I hope this works as I Jacked this from Miz Azeez's site Polygynous Blessings. I highly recommend you help her in her latest book and fill out her questionaires. I hope she doesn't mind I really do. I am going to link to her questionaires in this post Insha Allah.

900AM WURD-Polygyny in Islaam w/ Abul Hasan Maalik Adam (Part 1)

900AM WURD-Polygyny in Islaam w/ Abul Hasan Maalik (Part 2)

I want you to listen and then hit me up on what were your thoughts and feelings of the talk. I think that Brother Abdul Hasan Maalik was very thorough at least as much as he could be given the format and time frame of the show. The questions and answers are very good and informative. I want to know what you all think about it.

If you are thinking about Polygamy as a brother or sister fill out Azeez's Questionaire for brothers or her Questionaire for Sisters. I hope you don't just fill out her questionaires and not comment on my blog.

YES!!!! Jena 6 teen released on $45,000 bail

Alhamdulillah Rabil A'lameen there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately we are not out of the woods yet. In America there is a little process I call hide the Salami. Unfortunately when a lot of the smoke clears people find that the Salami has been placed in their own butts.

Mychal Bell has been released on bail Hip Hip Hooray and not tried as an adult Alhamdulillah for that too, but here is the deal. America's attention span is effectively two weeks long and after this leaves the headlines then it will effectively be put to sleep and the only good to come out of this will be that he won't be tried as an adult.

So what I am going to do is get in contact with other supporters of this case and organize a Click Rally on the crucial dates of the court hearings and rulings in this case. It may also be the case that since he will be tried as a juvenile the media will be denied access to this case altogether which could pose more problems. I will keep you informed.

America's Solution

America's solution

I've said it before that if you don't look at American News without first asking the question who is going to make money from this you've missed the big picture. It doesn't matter if the story is the size of Paris Hilton's new boobs or Big Stories like planes crashing into buildings. You have got to ask yourself First who is going to make money from this?

In this piece the story is Bayer spreading aids throughout the world. I wonder if those were the countries against Bush's Policy on Iraq. South America, Europe, France and Japan were the lucky recipients of the latest dose of the AIDS virus. So neatly distributed among the masses. Makes you wonder if that whole sex with monkeys story holds up, or was it just idiotic racist babble. The precision with which Bayer infected scores of unsuspecting hemophiliacs was nothing less than military in it's design. Maybe now there will be a cure now that Gibrau and Kiyosaki are now on the hit list?

So then you ask that terror is an outrageous course of action to take? I don't know about you, but if I found out that some fat ass snobbish motherfu**er gave my beautiful daughter the AIDS virus on purpose to meet third quarter profits. I know for a fact I would be stuffing some C4 in that Bentley or Maybach and putting corporate America on alert and when they catch me I would release a website in China and gladly go to jail for killing them and their whole families. Needless to say I would be pissed.

Cause you no what Bayer said when it all came out right. My Bad so sorry that happened to you. Hopefully they are aligning this stunt up with an antidote so that their profits will really skyrocket. If not then they are very stupid. Bastards. America gotta love it. And people really look at me funny when I tell them that 9/11 was a bunch of malarky. Am I denying that planes hit the buildings No. I am not taking anything away from those who died in that tragic event, but I do say that the only people that made out on that day were the capitalist and that is a fact that cannot be denied. Northrop Grumman, FMC, Springfield Armory, Haliburton, Exxon Gas, Citibank. The owner of the buildings didn't lose out he made an insurance profit and I forget how long he had to hold on to them. The Bush administration went from sudden doom to hero of the day. All the while most Americans miss the shell game. I don't even WATCH the news and I could see the transparency in that whole scheme.

I have said in previous posts that the Iraq invasion is going to go on forever. Why it is a detractor. Watch the card Watch the card are you watching are you watching. Boom where is the card? Nope pay up. Thank you for your time, come on again I got lucky you can do better next time. Aww I'm sorry thank you for your money. I'll tell you what I'll give you back some money but we have to double the stakes. Aww sorry you lose again. No more money thanks for playing I think this is my stop.

It is a systematic process. Destabilize the region, create in-fighting between the natives. Focus on the loss of American lives and rip everybody off. The intelligencia like Noam Chomsky are marginalized. The lack of a unified Islamic base or religious base marginalizes those who would talk by making sure the other side has more news coverage. If Christians speak out against this, the gay liberalist leaders get all the press. Thus bringing the issue into a giant debate that goes no where and again thank you for your money as we raise taxes and the price of common goods so that you can only work paycheck to paycheck and not think about anything else except how are you going to pay those bills.

The children are locked into Television so that they effectively learn that the only thing working is good for is to buy stuff that you really don't need and perhaps don't even want but Suzie has one and that is all that is important.

So what is the point? Watch yourself? and Watch your back America is not on your side. I'm not saying that there aren't good people in America, there are scores from all faith groups and all equally being raped by the system, the machine of what America truly is... Evil.

If you try to placate that statement you have only to look to this definition. If Something is Godless then it is devoid of God thus wherein the God of the place becomes the base desires of that place. A smorgasboard where all desires are sated. A place where there is never enough and the only one that matters is me, because without God Me is God. And that is always correct as long as you in yourself as God doesn't take away from Me in myself as God. This is faulted logic for the one with the biggest stick or the smartest brick always wins and the world is ruled by strategy and lies, and everything is ultimately corrupt from its basest source. This is how a fortune 500 country can sell a highly transmittable deadly human virus to children in a country that is not their own without any regret or remorse nor repercussions for their actions. This is the essence of America the State.

Will real political hip-hop make a come back?

(Brother Ali: Uncle Sam Goddamn. Contains explicit lyrics)

When people ask me how I became Muslim I emphatically give credit to Chuck D and Public Enemy. Although I didn't go the route following Minister Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam, it was the door to Islam that I came through. I thank Chuck for that. It was inspiration from his pro-black Islamically themed lyrics that created the desire in me for change and social uprising.

It was through bands like Public Enemy, and Poor Righteous Teachers, KRS-1 and others that fueled a powerful pro-black movement in the 80's and now it seems that it is time for that spirit to roll around again. Hip-Hop lives in the underground where the tracks aren't pimped out through record execs pushing senseless purchases of things you don't need and glorifying violence and prostitution. Real hip hop is highly intelligent and complex and it is color blind and beautiful. I've been listening to some new artists on the Underground Circuit and they are keeping hip-hop alive. The political hip-hop is just as raw and educational as ever which is good. It forces the mind or highly encourages one to go and look up what they are talking about. Curiosity is the key to learning and expanding the brain.

I loved the video. The images were raw and to the point and the lyrics were on track with the current state of the union. He makes a point and is vibrant. I will probably be downloading some more of his stuff.

Jena 6: My support will go on!

Now here we are in 2007 supposedly years after the marches on Washington D.C. and supposed equality and justice for all and yet we are right back where we started from. It will be a sad state of affairs if this trial goes the way of other American injustices. You know the two week blurb and then it is old news. NO we must do what we can to keep this trial alive. We must do what we can to keep it in front of the camera. As long as it is a hot topic it will be in front of the media. As long as some stupid nonsense like Michael Jackson is gay doesn't hit the press then it will stay in the media. As long as people buy copies of news papers and write the editor based on their coverage of the case it will stay in front of everyone. You want to know what makes news? It is the stuff they can sell. You want justice for these men. Buy news papers, buy magazines, blog about it, link to news stories covering the articles and have your bloggers click on them, even if they have already read the story. So I want you to Read about how 60,000 people descended on the town of Jena Louisiana. I want you to Read about how the judge denied the request to free Mychal Bell and even if you don't have time to read about it I want you to click on it. Click on those links from home and from work at a friends house and then I want you to find another story and link to that too. This is how the American media machine works. And when the story fails to show up in the press. I want you to go to every search outlet and google, yahoo, msn or whatever the plight of the Jena six. They keep statistics and if several million people google it all on the same day then hey. You had better bet it will make front line news.

Thank you for your support.

Now if you would please click here and support me in my support. And come back often.

Queen of Islam

Stone is cold on the Steps of God
She sits and waits patiently
The marble expansive the sun is hot
The remembrance of her Lord
She is not loud with brazen voice
Her plight she takes in silence
Although she is unjustified
she wants not for violence
She sits and waits and reminds us all
As we fulfill our obligation
She is one the wonderful
A mother to a nation
One does not know who stripped her gain
Her wealth and way of life
In her plight she indeed is honored
By Allah for patience in strife
Week after week she is seen
Lord a constant reminder
We are in debt each one and all
to the favors of our Lord
May our hearts well up with love
and bring things to accord
Her arms outstretched her lips held tight
No satisfaction in her cries
She is covered head to toe
Her pain seen by His eyes
She gives me strength to go on and champion
This Deen that I am on
She may be a beggar woman
But she is a Queen of Islam

Wow What a change

Most people used to get to my blog in one of two ways through my wife's site or Through Safa's site. Now almost everyone is googling me through some means or another. It is cool to see the shift. I may have to take my picture down soon. Someone might recognize me. LOL

Helloooo All

A sister has just posted just about every Mufti's writings on the Oral Sex issue in my Does a woman have to make Ghusl Post. It is pretty extensive. As for myself I am NOT going to comment. All I will say is THERE YOU GO and THAT being Said you all are more than free to truly decide what level of faith you seek to aspire to.

You know there were a lot of questions that the Sahaba didn't ask ON PURPOSE.

What does it say in the Quran? Why would you ask something that if you knew the answer to would cause you a great deal of hardship? Well now you know why that verse is in there.

5:101 O ye who believe! ask not questions about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble. But if ye ask about things when the Qur'an is being revealed, they will be made plain to you, Allah will forgive those: for Allah is Oft- forgiving, Most Forbearing.

And then there was the other one.

5:102 Some people before you did ask such questions, and on that account lost their faith.

Sometimes ignorance is bliss. If you don't know you surely can't be blamed for it but once you do know then you have to be held accountable on Yaumin Kiyamma. So THERE YOU GO!!

Mosques and Riffa Fort

New album updated. Check out the new pics I think these are some of the best ones yet.

America is back pedaling

Is America slowly sinking back into the cesspool of an ignorant racist country? Has it ever left that cesspool? These are questions that most Americans should ask. The link is to a news story of Megan Williams covered by Fox News of all people about a woman who was captured by a redneck family and forced to have sex and eat rat droppings and drink out of the toilet. Unlike the Jena 6 this redneck family will be prosecuted. At first reading this I was surprised that the hate crimes charge was dropped from the case, but only after prosecutors saw that the kidnapping and sexual assault carried stiffer charges.

The wisdom behind a story like this bears in mind a Hadith that I recall where the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhe Wa Salam said that in the end of days beware of the bastard children. Psychologically this demographic will have a high ratio of mental issues. Especially issues where basic human compassion are concerned. In cases of Racism and hate the basest of evils rears its ugly head. You wonder how could someone kidnap someone and force them to perform sex, but in a society where sex is a commercial rubric it is not hard at all to foresee. If you couple that with our bloodthirsty war-mongering President as an example of leadership then all intolerant behavior falls inline.

It is sad to see a great nation slipping into the abyss of complete moral depravity and social disconnect. Maybe the Muslims there will do their/our jobs and bring peace to the region.

What companies should ask at check out.

Would you like to have your receipt emailed to you?

Here is a million dollar idea for you create a portal where your purchases are emailed to you at check out. Why? because first of all keeping receipts is a pain to begin with and I was thinking this is the greatest asset of online stores is because they email you your product confirmation and you always have it. If you have Gmail or something. So six months to a year down the road I don't have to worry about looking for a reciept for something that I bought because I have it. Especially for warranty information. They make you fill out those stupid warranty cards and then they never keep a database of you so you need all of your original documentation anyway.

It is a really good idea. I would especially love if Wal-Mart did this because it would make it really easy when buying electronics and stuff to keep that receipt in case you needed to return something.

It should be a relatively easy process that may take a few clicks to implement but it would be a great idea. Then you wouldn't have to buy that stupid scanning software because everything would be right there online.

If you read this and you implement it I would like to send my kids to college so slip me a couple of bucks and I will advertise your service forever.

Ramadan Mubarak everyone

I wish all of you a happy and blessed Ramadan. My posts will probably get thin in this month of fasting and reflection. I hope you all can peel away from the screen and focus on your Deen this month. Insha Allah on the other end we will all arise refreshed and focused.

Wa A'laikum AsSalaam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu.

How Disney Hoes out our girls

It's not the first time that Disney stars have been turned out. The list is becoming long and glamorous of all of the Teeny Bopper leading ladies being whored out by the media, or by themselves. The latest applicant to the hoochie field is Vanessa Ann Hudgens. My daughter idolizes this girl. I don't like it. I never wanted to get that stupid machine in my home but there it is the TV.

So how does Disney do it, or rather Hollywood because of the actresses need to "break the mold" so to say apparently right after running off of the Disney set the actresses are I suppose pressured into doing more Adult roles. Usually of the mildly pornographic nature. She comes currently on the heels of Lindsay Lohan, Anne Hathaway and even Hillary Duff is jumping in on the Hoochie wagon. What happens is the stars that our children are watching suddenly get sucked into the world of supposed adulthood and then they Hooch out and Bam the parent is left dumbfounded and completely undermined as the person that they entrusted their child's decency to has slutted themselves out to the industry. So then what basis do you have to stand on? So now you have to start back pedaling. I say throw out all of the friggin TV's and then you won't have such a problem up close and personal.

Home of the Free, Land of the Oppressed

I have to say something about this. It is high time that I start using the 51 people that come to my blog for something positive. If you have a slow connection this is about the Jena 6. I have to admit that I have really been trying to ignore the race card however some Americans keep it alive and well. I will add to this post some email addresses that I am going to want you to contact, but for now I am going to sleep so it probably won't be until I get home tomorrow. Please disseminate this video to the widest possible audience.

Thank you.

If you need to link to the YouTube video click this.

Please email fox news, Cnn, Your Local news outlets, BBC News and Al Jazira and ask them why they are not covering this news story. If you are not native to America I think that it would be better because of the international embarrassment that would hopefully force the American News machine hand at covering this story. There is a massive race relations story that they could build out of this all they would have to do is go to the area.

Missing Big Love

I am definitely missing Big Love. I can buy it for $60 which I think that I will. I think I will only buy season 2 though I watched all of season one already. I haven't been keeping up with it but hear that it is the bomb. So I think that I will treat myself next paycheck to me some Big Love.

Does a wife have to make Ghusl after Oral Sex?

People were asking that I really need to find out what the ruling is. After running around SunniPath for hours this is what I deduced. If you do not have a female ejaculation upon stimulating your husband then you do not have to perform Ghusl. He however will have to perform Ghusl. You will have to perform Wudu because you touched his private. Of all of the answers on SunniPath this is the one that is the closest to the circumstance in question.

Ghusl: unsure whether orgasm occurred
Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani, SunniPath Academy Teacher

(Newly married couple) Does a wife have to make a ghusl if she was stimulated by her husband, feeling wetness but not being sure if she fully experienced an orgasm?

So even if he cums and it gets on you then you only have to wash it off and make wudu. If anyone who reads this is in contact with any of those brothers from SunniPath and my deduction is incorrect then please let me know. Swallowing his Sperm is Highly Disliked, but it is not Haram. I know that one hits hard and really separates the spitters from the swallowers. If you enjoy swallowing for those who do it isn't Haram, but it is close to that edge so you have to decide where you want to take that. I have included the posts that I used to come to my deduction.

Fiqh 1.11: Sperm, Al-Mani

Some scholars say that sperm is impure, but apparently it is pure, for it is only recommended to wash it off if it is still wet, and to scratch it off if it is dry. Said 'Aishah, "I used to scratch the sperm off the Messenger of Allah's clothes if it was dry, and wash it off if it was still wet." (This is related by ad-Daraqutni, Abu 'Awanah and al-Bazzar). It is also related that Ibn 'Abbas said, "I asked the Messenger of Allah about sperm on clothes. He said, 'It is the same as mucus and spittle. It is sufficient to rub the area with a rag or cloth."'

The hadith was related by ad-Daraqutni, al-Baihaqi and atTahawi. There is a difference in the narration over whether it should be in marfu'or mauqoof form.

Bedroom Fiqh: Clarifications on a Previous Post
Answered by Shaykh Amjad Rasheed

I recently read in one of your answers that it is permissible for husband and wife to stimulate each other by using their mouths and tongues on each other’s genitals. You then conditioned this permissibility by saying that, "Someone who does what has been mentioned above should avoid filth if it is present on the private parts." I have a number of questions on this point:

  1. By "should", do you mean it is obligatory to do so?
  2. Are ejaculate [m: Ar. maniyy, cf. Reliance, e10.4], pre-ejaculate [m: Ar. madhy, cf. Reliance, e10.5(1)], and other fluids that exit the male and female private parts included in what must be avoided?
  3. What exactly is meant by "avoid"? Does it mean not swallowing or does it also mean avoiding contact?
  4. If, by "avoid", you mean avoiding contact, then this effectively renders these acts forbidden since it is almost impossible to avoid contact with these fluids since pre-ejaculate (Ar. madhy), for example, will inevitably be present in such a situation.
  5. Are these acts disliked (makruh) or contrary to the sunnah?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الحمد لله رب العالمين و صلى الله على سيدنا محمد و على آله و صحبه و سلم أما بعد

(1) Yes, it is obligatory to avoid filth (meaning to touch it when it is moist or when the one touching it is moist) except when one needs to. Otherwise, this would be considered smearing oneself with filth, which is forbidden.

(2) Ejaculate (Ar. maniyy) is pure, so it is not necessary to avoid. However, swallowing it is forbidden because it is considered repulsive. As for pre-ejaculate (Ar. madhy) and other fluids that exit the private parts, they are filthy, and must be avoided as described above.

(3) "Avoiding [h: filth]" means avoiding direct skin contact with any part of the body, whether by swallowing or by touching.

(4) What the scholars have explicitly mentioned is that these acts are permitted between husband and wife. However, they are only permitted if one avoids contact with filth because there is no need [h: to touch the filth] in this case. So if one wants to perform such an act, he or she must stay away from filth. [h: As for the objection that the condition of avoiding filth effectively renders these acts impermissible, it is not true because] not everyone immediately excretes pre-ejaculate (Ar. madhy); rather, people have differing natures in this regard.

(5) What is explicitly mentioned in the texts is that these acts are permissible. I have not seen anyone mention that they are disliked or better not to do (Ar.khilaf al-awla), and Allah knows best.

Ghusl Upon Ejaculation
Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani, SunniPath Academy Teacher

Must a woman of the Hanafi Madhab perform ghusl if she engages in sexual activities with her husband where she climaxes but this is done *without* penetration. Furthermore, there is no contact with her privates as she is wearing undergarments. What about if all of the above remains true but she comes into contact with her husband's semen?

A purificatory bath (ghusl) would be required in such a case, because the Prophet (Allah bless him & give him peace) said, “Water is required by water.” [A rigorously authentic hadith reported by Muslim, from Abu Sa`id al-Khudri (Allah be pleased with him)] That is, one needs to use water for a purificatory bath, if ejaculation takes place.

Muwaffaq al-Din Ibn Qudama (d. 620 AH) mentioned in his masterpiece of Hanbali and comparative fiqh, al-Mughni,

“The exiting of ejaculate with desire makes a purificatory bath (ghusl) obligatory for men and women, whether in waking or sleep. This is the position of the generality of the fuqaha, as Tirmidhi said, and we are not aware of any disagreement on this.” [Ibn Qudama, al-Mughni, 1: 278, Dar Ihya’ al-Turath al-Arabi]

Imam Abu Bakr al-Kasani reported scholarly consensus on this in his Bada’i` al-Sana’i` (1: 36)

As for when actual intercourse takes places, a purificatory bath is obligatory (fard), even if no ejaculation takes place.

Ala’ al-Din Abidin, the 19th Century Damascene faqih and son of Ibn Abidin, said in his al-Hadiyya al-`Ala’iyya:

“A purificatory bath is necessitated by:

a) sperm or female ejaculate that leaves its place of origin with desire [f: whether actual or effective], even if it exits the body without desire, even if without sexual intercourse;

b) the head of the penis entering either private part of a living human being who is fit for sexual intercourse, even without any release of sexual fluids…” [al-Hadiyya al-`Ala’iyya, ]

Faraz Rabbani

One becomes in a state of (janaba) for two reasons:

The first reason: Semen exiting the man's penis or female ejaculate exiting the woman's vagina, from its place of origin with desire. Abu Dawud and others have related from Aisha (Allah be pleased with her) that she said: "The Messenger of Allah was asked about a man who finds wetness (f: of semen from ejaculation), but does not remember having a wet dream. So he said (Allah bless him and give him peace), 'he must perform ghusl.' And he was asked about a man who thinks he had a wet dream, but finds no wetness. So he said (Allah bless him and give him peace), 'he does not have to perform ghusl.' So Umm Sulaim said, 'if a woman finds wetness, does she have to perform ghusl?' He said: Yes, women are the partners of men.'" .....

When and how is a woman napak (impure), and in need of Ghusl?
