Helloooo All
A sister has just posted just about every Mufti's writings on the Oral Sex issue in my Does a woman have to make Ghusl Post. It is pretty extensive. As for myself I am NOT going to comment. All I will say is THERE YOU GO and THAT being Said you all are more than free to truly decide what level of faith you seek to aspire to.
You know there were a lot of questions that the Sahaba didn't ask ON PURPOSE.
What does it say in the Quran? Why would you ask something that if you knew the answer to would cause you a great deal of hardship? Well now you know why that verse is in there.
And then there was the other one.
Sometimes ignorance is bliss. If you don't know you surely can't be blamed for it but once you do know then you have to be held accountable on Yaumin Kiyamma. So THERE YOU GO!!

5:101 O ye who believe! ask not questions about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble. But if ye ask about things when the Qur'an is being revealed, they will be made plain to you, Allah will forgive those: for Allah is Oft- forgiving, Most Forbearing.
And then there was the other one.
5:102 Some people before you did ask such questions, and on that account lost their faith.

The meaning of this verse is that you can ask the question about what is the meaning of Quran, however you can not ask question about when it was written, and why it was written, and try to draw their own conclusion. I just read this verse in the quran yesterday and found the real meaning of it. If you are implying this verse in accordance with ORAL SEX. This verse does not fit here at all brother. EVEN SAHABAH ask questions regarding oral sex and anal sex. How do you think it's haram. Your other comment that ignorance is Bliss, But ignorance is not bliss. If you don't know something and never try to find out the truth you will be accountable for it on the day of judgement why we did not seek the knowledge. But once you know, have strong faith. In Islam you don't choose the level of faith brother. You choose faith. So the verse you indicated here nothing to do with oral sex. It was to tell them not to question of book of Allah.
5:102 Some people before you did ask such questions, and on that account lost their faith.
This verse indicates that Prophet Moses(A.S).his people asked stupid question like I WANT TO SEE YOUR GOD? HOW DID THE BOOK CAME ABOUT.
Just wanted to clear your undestanding about the Verse and Faith in Islam.
First of all. I am not a scholar and in the argumentation or difference of opinions concerning an issue I do not proclaim any weight in any decision concerning a specific ruling. The Ruling about Anal Sex is more than known however the ruling about oral sex was not as specifically known but derived through the madhabs to come to a ruling. This has to be the only explaination because it was so frigging hard to find in the first place. I'm not doubting the knowledge and expertise of the scholar you quoted in the least. However I am saying that there is a difference of opinion. Between strongly Makruh and Haram as you have quoted. Yes both are in the negative end of the Deen Scale, but one leaves the room that Smokers use to continue smoking. I feel that smoking is or should be Haram, but there is a difference of Opinion there. With that difference of opinion believers are allowed to follow either opinion. Unless they follow Madhabs then they have to take the opinion of the scholars in that madhab.
ReplyDeleteThis is all that I'm saying. I will get into it more if you wish however now I must go to Taraweeh.
Ramadan Mubarak
AsSalaamu A'laikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu
Actually no I won't get into it if you wish. That would be a complete invitation from my Nafs. So I will only say this, the fact that there exists a difference of opinion leaves the subject in the Makruh. When there is strong evidence then all schools of thought agree upon the issue. Like Anal Sex there is no difference or wavering of opinion on the subject.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your comments, and that is all I will say. Feel free to post whatever you like.
ReplyDeleteActually, it had never occurred to me that Muslims might be required to keep their clothes on during their most intimate moments until a few months ago when I was browsing through IslamOnline, the website supervised by the prominent (and controversial) Qatar-based cleric, Yusuf al-Qaradawi.
Delivering a fatwa on oral sex, 79-year-old Dr Qaradawi describes it as a disgusting western practice, resulting from westerners' habit of "stripping naked during sexual intercourse". But he continues: "Muslim jurists are of the opinion that it is lawful for the husband to perform cunnilingus on his wife, or a wife to perform the similar act for her husband (fellatio) and there is no wrong in doing so. But if sucking leads to releasing semen, then it is makruh (blameworthy), but there is no decisive evidence (to forbid it) ... especially if the wife agrees with it or achieves orgasm by practising it."
On this issue, Dr Qaradawi's views are more permissive than those of several other clerics on the internet. One states that oral sex is definitely forbidden, adding that "this hideous practice will draw the anger of Allah". Another, asked if oral sex is permitted, replies: "I don't know what is oral sex, please define it."
Retrieved from the Guardian
9/29/2007 A catholic paper I presume but Imam Qaradawi is definitely a Muslim.
Seema/anonymous said:"EVEN SAHABAH ask questions regarding oral sex and anal sex. How do you think it's haram."
ReplyDeleteWhen speaking on this we have to make sure that everything is in its right place. You cannot lump things that are in different catogories into one sentence you have to clarify yourself. Oral sex by the Mufti you quoted is Makrooh Tahrimi and as we all know Anal Sex is Haram. Let's keep straight things Straight. You can comment as much as you like but don't misrepresent the facts.
Thank you
I'm sorry I couldn't help it, it is the Nafs.
ReplyDeleteYour other comment that ignorance is Bliss, But ignorance is not bliss.
Ignorance is bliss in the correct context. Kafara or denying the truth is NOT ignorance which is what I believe you are talking about. For Kafara you will be held accountable for Ignorance you won't be held accountable for if you worship your Lord with sincere devotion (AND NOT MIXING THAT IGNORANCE WITH ARROGANCE) and Allah knows best what he will accept from his servants.
Read the Hadith where Abraham I believe it was entertained a Idol Worshiper and became upset when the man called on other than Allah for blessing the food. Abraham became very upset and Allah said why do you not have patience with him as he has worshiped Me the best he knows how all of these years and you cannot be patient with him for a few moments. Instruct him in the right way.
The Problem with "Break yourself" Muslims is that they want to institute the entire Deen at once and then are surprised when they find themselves completely out of the Deen. The Prophet Sallallahu Alayhe Wa Salaam said that Take Islam easy if you try to take too much it will break you. Refer to the Hadith of the Best Fast where the man kept saying "I can do better than that" and wound up fasting every other day until he died. He later regretted it, but Alhamdulillah he remained Muslim. This Deen is Vast and life is Long take a little of the Deen and master it and then move on to the next thing. Most people don't master the basics of this Deen let alone the vast complexities of rulings and what not.
This oral sex subject is no less in the realm of that which can add much confusion to an issue. It is also an issue that a person is going to take as far as their faith allows them to. If a person has strong faith then they will do the best in this matter if a person has little faith then they may swing towards the Makruh however it must be said that either position doesn't earn them a sin.
