No procrastination for the Believer

There are two words in association with action that the Muslim Believer has no use of. The words When and Why. In terms of action the Believer has no use of Why due to the fact that it has already passed and the ink is dry on that situation. The Believer cannot go into the past to address the issue or through critical analysis change the outcome of something that has taken place. The only thing that is left for a Believer to contemplate on is what is to be done with it now. Therefore What is the realm where the Believer operates in. Why is probably a number one door to depression followed by his sister "If Only". These are not phrases for the Believer because there is nothing that can ever be done to change or correct that situation and it leaves your mind spending time and energy over something that you cannot change or alter.

The next place where Believers get caught up in is When. When is an uncertain guarantee of events that you have no control over. Which is primarily why we say Insha Allah when planning to do something that we actually intend to do in the future. The Believer should Never use Insha Allah for something that they do not intend to do in the first place. This teaches you to lie to your heart and it is a disease that spreads to all of your intentions. "Do not say I shall do such and such tomorrow without saying Insha Allah" 18:23, 18:24. "Oh you who believe why do you say that which you do not do? Greviously odius in the sight of Allah that you say that which you do not do. 61:2, 61:3"

When is an express evil to the Believer for it allows one to get caught up in all of the possibilities but doesn't provide practical application for its attainment and leads to excuses of inaction. When I lose 10 pounds, When I get my degree, When I grow up, When I make a million dollars all statements point to inaction of WHAT it is that you are doing right now. The Believer knows that the only thing that they have influence over are the WHAT that is taking place right now. I can guarantee that the use of the word When used in concert with an action equates to some level of procrastination. Procrastination is also a breeding ground for the seeds depression. "And they ask when will come the Help of Allah? 2:214"

The word Why in concert with action is only to be used as an interogative for reflection. The word When is only to be used in reference to inevitable events that are to take place without your control. The Believer should strive to eliminate these words from their vocabulary associated with action. Why is a learning tool for reflection and the implementation of wise practices. Why should not be reflected on as terms of regret and sorrow for there is nothing that can be done about what has passed only about what is happening right now. When the milk spills wipe it up, reflect upon why it spilled and develop safe practices to keep it from spilling again. When a milk spilling situation arises use the wisdom that was learned to perform positive actions to prevent it from spilling and defuse the situation. "If only they had stayed at home and not gone out to fight they would not have died 3:168."

When you have put your mind to an outcome do not use When as an dangling future event. " When you have decided upon a matter put your trust in Allah 3:159" State when and then state as many Whats that are necessary to accomplish the When event. When I graduate? What does that mean? It means that I need to do this homework to gain mastery of these skills right now. Graduation will come on its own, but focusing on what cap and gown you will have has no effect on the homework that is due tomorrow. When I build a successful business has no effect on the customer relations that you must build right now in order to accomplish that effect.  You have no control over the When nor of tomorrow or the next five minutes. You only have some control over what is happening right now.

Leaving Why and When out of your vocabulary in concert with actions will enable you to become a more action oriented Believer. As Believers our command is to Believe and Work Righteous deeds. Everything about our Deen is concerned with action and not sitting around wondering why this happened or when this will come. We are a Now based community and we must practice this in all aspects of life not just Deen. Thinking and over thinking are a result from living in the when. When Isa comes, When the Mahdi comes, When all the Muslims come to Fajr then we will be awesome, until then we will sit here and talk about it. What sense does that make? Why did the Muslims break the Khilafah, Why isn't there an Islamic country, Why did the Prophet have to die, Why did I gain fifteen pounds? All questions which lead to inaction and regret and ultimately a defeated mentality. Believers must leave it and do the Work. The Prophet (SAW) always advises action over inaction. "If you are planting a seed and the Day of Judgement comes upon you, continue to plant".

You will notice in your reading of the Quran that at anytime the use of the words Why (If only), and When are used in concert with action that it is probably also associated with grief due to the inability to control the outcome. Grief is directly associated with depression a consistent state of anxiety and worry for events that are outside of your control. Let us today leave these poisonous words and work towards those things we can change right now and thus multiplying the positives in our lives and the happiness.

Bahz narrated to us from Hammad (ibn Salamah) who narrated to him from Hishaam ibn Zayd who said that he heard Anas ibn Maalik (radhiya Allahu ‘Anhu) saying Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “If the hour (as-saa’ah, i.e. the day of judgment) is established upon you and in your hand is a plant, if you are able, do not stand until you have planted it into the ground.”

Wanting to write again

I have been wanting to write again. I have been posting some stuff on Facebook but I have not really been posting stuff to my blog. The only people that comes to my blog anymore are bots and probably some government agents. Who knows. After what Edward Snowden laid down they probably don't have to search anymore as soon as it is uploaded to Google a copy is sent strait away to the NSA servers. Edward's greatest fear in his whole situation was that his plight would be recieved with absolute apathy.

In recent news I have been reading Malcolm X: A life of reinvention by Manning Marable and it offers some insight into the man known and loved as El Hajj Malik Shabazz. There are points with it that I'm completely bleh about. Such as the controversy over him being homosexual or not. From the rest of his life it is apparent that this is not the case, but it does build upon my hypothesis about homosexuality. I believe that there are about 1% of the population that are genuinely afflicted with homosexual tendencies. The rest of the people that fall into the den of homosexuality are creatures of circumstance.

Homosexuality is an expression of lust for one, and complete selfishness in other aspects of life. Coming from a standpoint of lust there is the case of the person with an insatiable sexual appetite and they are really not concerned with where they fulfill their desires from. Such as the odd character in the Kinsley movie who bragged about him being able to ejaculate in under 10 seconds or whatever. He is not concerned with whether he pleases himself with his hand, her mouth, his butt or having fido lick his balls clean of peanut butter. He just wants to get off and in the homosexual world of extremely easy sex he has only to say a word and it it is on. Then you have the emotional homosexual, who is trying to rebuild a lost relationship from childhood which was either strained or malnourished to the point that they hold on to paternalesque relationships in an unhealthy way. If exhibited in youth they could have been bullied into a self image that fulfilled itself at some other stage of life. Then there is the power homosexual who seeks to rule over others and from a masculine standpoint there is no greater conquest than pulling the strings of fortune to manipulate the choices of those so financially strapped that they degrade themselves into fulfilling the role as a submissive even if or especially if it is not their nature. There is no glory in the submission of one who has already submitted himself to the effeminate, however to coerce a fully straight man into a homosexual situation and demasculating him would be an ultimate triumph. Which is why in movies you have fully strong men bouncing around in drag. A studio producers power to demasculinize Wesley Snipes into a female role is an expression of power. To sodomize one of the mightiest football college teams in the nation is power. For decades even, and probably has nothing to do with "traditional" homosexuality. Take for instance a young man taunted by his class mates, called a faggot and bullied. Now he is a CEO of a major corporation and calls the shots, he would then be in a position to turn the tables. That's a situation of power and probably has little to do with homosexuality.

Their world is really riddled with psychosis and lonliness and more psychosis. Speaking in observance of the ones that I have had the opportunity to view very close up. Granted I don't know a lot of homosexuals and really don't care to, but of the observations that I have made and the articles that I have read this is their case. With the women there are more part timers than there are die hard lesbians. After the point is proven then what? From what I've seen there are a ton of Butches that are looking for something and get dumped and move on. Loneliness upon loneliness, I suppose it is a sickness within itself.

Back to Malcolm X though I can see that he struggled in his life. In his married life he knew no example of what a family should be like. What is a husband? What makes a man a man. How can you obtain intimacy with someone whom you fundamentally don't trust? His is the same situation in the struggle of being a man on a mission and being with a woman. He was growing into a better husband and would have ultimately made it, however his life was cut short. As he entered into orthodox Islam he was changing, but his life was cut too soon.

What has really inspired me about his life up to now was the transformation and reflecting on my own life. Here was a man with a ton of dirt balanced on his shoulders. How he wasn't even a respectable citizen of society, but his dedication to Allah changed and reformed him into a well disciplined man of God. Looking at myself I ask can I make such a metamorphasis? Looking at all of this time that I have been Muslim and have been silent of the things that I have learned. Shaytan comes to me daily and tells me that I have no right to speak. I don't know enough because I have squandered my time and now it is too late to speak. No one will believe you. No one will respect you and you aren't of sufficient quality to lead anyone except yourself. Even with all of this there is  call in me. A call to stand up and state that which is right. That which is true. If Malcolm can do it from such depths then why can't I do it from right here where I am. Maybe I won't become a scholar and maybe that is not my job, maybe my job is to find the next Malcolm and inspire that one to speak. However if none speaks then I must do so.

The other thing that stood out for me about Manning's version of Malcolm's life was all of the movements that he listed. All of them without any reservation were all built upon people standing up and speaking. Whether the movements where right or wrong, whether they had the correct ideology or not, they all gained support and enroads to those who were willing to stand up and make a change. In reading the Seerah of the Prophet it is evident that he was inviting to the Deen on a daily basis. Daily, not once a month on Dawah Day or once a quarter or once a year. He interacted on a daily basis. Daily.

Ok I'm done. I have my little Bluetooth keyboard but I used the wrong program to type this in. The Blogger App doesn't have an auto save function so I just lost two paragraphs. Next time I'll write it up in Kingsoft and then cut and paste.

Late Eid Mubarak

Sorry Blog fans whom there probably are none at this point, but anyway Eid Mubarak. I felt that I grew a little bit this Ramadan. I finished the Quran in English. I also re-remembered some Surahs I forgotten. I am currently learning some new ones. I think that will keep going.

The impetus to learn more Surahs came after someone asked me how long have I been Muslim and I said a little over 20 years. Then I thought what? I could have been a Hafiz by now. Yes if you learn as little as 5 ayats a day it will take you right aroundd 5 years to become hafiz. So needless to say that I and probably some of you are behind the 8 ball on this one. So I'm up to Layl as of this posting.

And Now a little discourse on Racism

And now a little discourse on Racism.

In the Quran there is a lovely break down of how Racism was introduced in the world. It is the envy of The Devil against man. In it are several lessons of which we can all benefit from.

And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful.
And We have certainly created you, [O Mankind], and given you [human] form. Then We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees. He was not of those who prostrated.
[ Allah ] said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" [Satan] said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay."
[ Allah ] said, "Descend from Paradise, for it is not for you to be arrogant therein. So get out; indeed, you are of the debased.
[Satan] said, "Reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected."
[ Allah ] said, "Indeed, you are of those reprieved."
[Satan] said, "Because You have put me in error, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path.
Then I will come to them from before them and from behind them and on their right and on their left, and You will not find most of them grateful [to You]."
[ Allah ] said, "Get out of Paradise, reproached and expelled. Whoever follows you among them - I will surely fill Hell with you, all together."
And "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat from wherever you will but do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."
But Satan whispered to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal."
And he swore [by Allah ] to them, "Indeed, I am to you from among the sincere advisors."
So he made them fall, through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, "Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?"
They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."
[ Allah ] said, "Descend, being to one another enemies. And for you on the earth is a place of settlement and enjoyment for a time."
He said, "Therein you will live, and therein you will die, and from it you will be brought forth."

First Lesson: Above everything is to be thankful with what you have been given. If you fail to be thankful with whatever station Allah(God) puts you in you open yourself up to exploitation. This door of exploitation can and most probably will lead to some unsavory decisions.

Second Lesson: Haters gonna Hate. Know that Allah has bestowed on you an honorable place. Your test in it will raise your station in His Eyes. He gave you the glory of whatever gift you have been given so rejoice in it and keep it moving.

Third Lesson: Those that Hate want the station that you have been given. Furthermore they will feel more entitled to it than you are. They are not thankful for the station that they have been given and they want to be all up in your business. They have their eye on you and they want you to fall. Keep your eyes on the the prize and do what Allah tells you to do and you will be just fine.

Fourth Lesson: Haters will want a break and make nice nice. Talking all of that flowery talk and securing promises from you that everything is cool.

Fifth Lesson: Haters will show their true colors. After the nice nice talk they will always reveal their true intentions however subtle. You will see their intensity to pull you down.

Sixth Lesson: Follow the wisdom of those who wish you well. Failure to do so will lead to your demise. If there is a written or cultural standard follow it so that you do not land yourself in a precarious situation.

Seventh Lesson: Again just be thankful for what you got because Haters will convince you that there is something faulty in that which Allah gave you so that you will want something else. Once a rock is in motion it will continue to tumble down the hill. Haters will seek to convince you that you can magically be better than everyone else so that you will be a superstar. So your skin is too black, your lips too fat, your butt too big, your bank account too small, and your ride too ugly so that you compromise yourself in the struggle to attain the unattainable. It is the first rule in marketing. "Look at your Man, Now Look at Me, I'm on a Horse."

If you do not heed these Lessons The Evil One will make you look like an idiot and everyone will think so including you. Then you will be left to deal with the unsavory consequences of your actions.

There are two lessons in Life, The ones that your parents give you and the ones that Allah gives you for not listening to your parents.

The feeling

The feeling of love is a drug. So what do you do when it's one sided. When one person loves and the other person is true to the other, but the feeling in its intensity isn't mutual.

So my friend comes to me and says that he loves his wife but is not in love with her. Although it is growing. He realizes what she is saying about the distance between them. He had been denying it all along until he met an old friend whom he did love and then it became clear to him. His dedication and love would never lead him to leave so he goes on. Now though he has the knowledge of his feelings and remembers what butterflies feel like.

Butterflies are fragile and can die easily.

Sometimes I think

ٱتْلُ مَآ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ ۗ وَلَذِكْرُ ٱللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ null Recite (O Muhammad SAW) what has been revealed to you of the Book (the Quran), and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat). Verily, As-Salat (the prayer) prevents from Al-Fahsha' (i.e. great sins of every kind, unlawful sexual intercourse, etc.) and Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism, and every kind of evil wicked deed, etc.) and the remembering (praising, etc.) of (you by) Allah (in front of the angels) is greater indeed [than your remembering (praising, etc.) Allah in prayers, etc.]. And Allah knows what you do.

So I'm almost finished reading the Quran again. I should have been finished long ago. When the time changed I got off of my routine. So I'm sometimes despondent as I wish that my wife would long for the Deen more. Little things that possibly other Muslims don't have fault in. Although we all have faults. Then I thought that she is truly only an reflection of myself. Who I truly am and not what I tell myself I am. Maybe my perceived faults in her are my own manifest faults shining through her practice, for a true Muslim man leading his family shines the light for them and pulls them along.

Who am I? And who am I fooling? Am I putting in the effort or just rolling along. I'm not leading, just existing, and nothing will change until I do. Am I serious about the Deen or just a passenger?

If I lived my Deen then people would know who I am and there wouldn't be a question of what I expect, but I compromised and now there is no race to prayer.  No Tahajjud, little fasting, no masjid love, no reading as a family, but this is my job not hers.

So maybe I will go alone and call it a day, as Lot had to leave his wife I may have to leave mine. That is a convoluted statement, because it is not as black and white as it seems. Maybe it is just me speaking my truth that I need to be doing, but if I don't do it, I can't verily well expect someone else to do it for me. No one will live my dreams if I don't live them.

How hard a Muslim do I want to be? How many endeavors will I enter knee deep before I ask is this halal and start over from scratch? How many customs will I allow to persist until I stop them? This is my job and I am alone in it.

Do your job Muhammad or live in misery.

Male or female Priapism treatment

Priapism for men and women is a painful situation. I'm writing this article because all of the medical boards say the same thing. Come in take these drugs and we'll see what happens.

I will tell you what has been the most effective for me in my cases of this pain. Ice, rest nor over the counter drugs have really helped. So I surmised that since this is a blood use problem you must force your body to find another use for the blood.

Vigorous exercise will make it go down. By forcing your body to redistribute the blood the erect penis or clitoris will go down. You may have to repeat several times to maintain a state of peace but it does work.

So unless you want to take Guinea pig drugs go and run a couple of miles for relief.

Ask for forgiveness immediately

He said: "My Lord! Verily, I have wronged myself, so forgive me." Then He forgave him. Verily, He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful. 28:16 Qasas

So Musa kills a man and asks for forgiveness immediately and gets it. Proof that Allah is ever with the believers and a thorough explanation of how to deal with sin.

1. Make tauba Immediately.
2. Do not return to the action and change your behavior/attitude.
3. Realize that Shaitan is going to get in your face to invoke despair. He will cause you to fear the creation (the economy, the law, your job, a person,etc...) more than Allah.
4. Remove yourself from the situation.
5. Submit completely to the help and mercy of Allah, and pray.

Use this formula and succeed in this world and the next.

In Islam the Minimum wives recommended is two?

I was talking with a brother who explained the verse in Sura Nisaa. Where Allah Commands to marry two, three or four in the case of being fair to orphans. He explained to me that two is the minimum. I had never looked at the verse this way. Ever.

He stated that it is the only verse in the Quran that commands marriage and that marriage to one is the last resort if you are unable to be fair. Of course my first thought was complete disbelief. No, well how could this be. Marriage is talked about several times in the Quran however this is the only verse commanding it. With a number?

The verse which is the nightmare of most sisters is this, everyone knows it.

YUSUFALI: If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice.

So using this logic the verse goes like this. Marry women of your choice Two or Three or Four. Where the Order from Allah is on the Man to take wives starting at two minimum. He didn't say get married and then you can marry up to four. No the number of marriage starts at two. This is where the logic of my brother begins. It ends with One being the Last Resort. So I pondered this and said Hmm. Ok the brother does have a valid point. The verse is a Command and the number that is started out with is Two. This is true. However there is also the issue of the orphans which is used as a criteria in the number of wives. However orphans are not a rule considered in marriage under normal circumstances at all. So the issue of the orphans rests squarely upon itself and the issue of marriage is a separate issue. No where else in the Quran is marriage ordered.

Everything about marriage is discussed. When to marry, who to marry, who not to marry, what to give as dowry, It is of utmost piety not to take back any dowry, etcetera. However it remains that the only command about marriage when marriage is ordered consists with the minimum number of two. Followed by the verse who states that you will never be able to do justice between your wives.

I AM NO SCHOLAR. I am only repeating this here out of reflection and my thought process in it. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR BULLETS in your thought process please defer to someone knowledgeable in these matters.

I think that if brothers took this to heart we would be doomed, but looking at things realistically polygyny makes a lot of sense. It explains many statements of the Prophet SAW. Such as marry young women, Have many children to outnumber the Kuffar. And so on. All of this wisdom is geared to realizing the time that we are in where Predator Drones comb the skies and kill off Muslims in droves. You would think that Muslims would be out there procreating like mad.

Well it is late and all of my thoughts aren't really together, but as I went over the compilation of marriage verses I realize that the goal of marriage in Islam is to purify the community and leave no one struggling in their nafs.

I'll leave this off here. If you plan on taking my post and running to your wife with it bring your gloves because it is going to be a fight.

Drift towards P

So this weekend the P monster came to visit. It was strange and although I have been on my Deen it was really weird. I have been married a year now and have not thought of P seriously, but this weekend it all came rushing back in a cloud of hopelessness. It was a most incredible feeling of despair. My wonderful wife got up and went to religious services and for some reason my world caved in. It was as if I was all alone in the universe. I went into a tailspin and looked for my only way out. P.

Maybe it was dhikr or prayer or both but I decided to do something that I hadn't ever decided to do. Talk about it. It was therapeutic and assuaged my fears of doing this Deen alone. However before my recovery I had went to a marriage site, texted a possible and looked at another during a meeting. I regained my senses and remembered my pain and I realized that I don't really think that I can do it. If I could then I possibly would have done it by now.

Today I made my rounds on the blogs of the former P vanguards and seen the fallen. Safa gave me words of wisdom and for that I thank her. She is a beautiful person. I still think she's cuter in hijab. LOL. So I read, I read the pain and remembered. I thought that I could do it differently, but now that I'm in a relationship that I'm actually talking and working things out in. I can see that it is practically impossible. I've reached a point in my life where I just want peace and P has too much drama for that. I say that even though I know that my heart would feel compassion for the right circumstance and I would have to talk myself out of it and remove myself from the situation in order to keep peace.

For those contemplating or struggling in P my prayers are with you. May you be blessed.

Is the Beast in the Quran Google?

And when the Word (of torment) is fulfilled against them, We shall bring out from the earth a beast to them, which will speak to them because mankind believed not with certainty in Our Ayat (Verses of the Quran and Prophet Muhammad SAW).

Ok third time writing this. I have now found out that if my phone goes to sleep while I am writing then everything that I have written vanishes into the cloud. So we are now on the third revision of this document from scratch. I have a meeting to go to in 15 minutes so there may be a couple of additions to this post because this time I will SAVE frequently. Grrr!

I have often pondered this verse and wondered what in our modern day world could this possibly be? I have come up with nothing other than Google or more lovingly the Cloud. The Cloud has evolved as an entity that was obscure to the masses and now it is hurdling towards world wide acceptance and implementation. It is true that many in the world do not have internet. However most of the developed world is completely connected.

In the Hadith it is explained that the Beast travels throughout the world and tells souls that they are believers or disbelievers. It is covered with hair and unintelligible which is the head or the tail. This beast is capable of great speeds in its duty of notifying the world of its kufr or belief kind of like a Santa Clause of Kufr notification. So I thought what could reasonably do this and in my reflection I could only come up with the Cloud.

The Cloud is true and unbiased in its reporting about you the believer. It repeats what it is that you truly believe in. What are your likes and dislikes, your dreams and aspirations, your fears, your concerns. How much of a believer you are or are not. Who are you fooling and who you really are. When asked the Cloud can provide a complete psychological profile of everyone connected to it. It can update this profile on demand. Analyze the different variables and within a couple of degrees accurately peg you as sincere or lying.

Think about it you tell the Cloud everything directly. Through your Facebook and Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn accounts you divulge your every whim. Your email and search histories are cataloged and filed. Your IP addresses are tracked when you go into stealth mode. Your phone calls are tracked and your movements from tower to tower, triangulated and pinpointed. Your apps give away your location and this is cool?

This is then corroborated with the external Cloud which is not necessarily connected to you. The cameras on you at the bank, the checkout counter, ATM are constantly identifying you. The channels you watch on television, Who you email, Who you don't. Where are you driving your car? At so many points of connection the Cloud knows exactly where you are and what you're doing. And who you're talking to. It's implementation is not complete and it is not Allah, but it is the closest that Shaitan has come in a long time to being 2 to 3 steps ahead of the game. The Shayateen can't listen in the stars but they can listen to you.

What then is our plight when everything about us is known in an instant? Where we shop, where we travel what we buy and what we think about? In this ever increasing Satanic world? Allah tells us do not fear their plots for He is with us.

The speed of data collection is overwhelming and the expense made to trivialize its collection is ever expanding. More and more apps ask for access. Games and sketchpads constantly asking for contact logs, phone records, location habits why? The noose is tightening on the free world. In a minute the second someone steals your phone you will be able to have them picked up with complete biometrics. In a moment they will know exactly who you are. The question is do you know who you are. If you don't know the Cloud can tell you.

There have been changes recently in the way that the internet works. There was never any real privacy and now internet privacy is becoming more and more trivialized. There are so many cameras everywhere that you no longer think anything of them. Cameras being linked together in seconds. Burglar alarms with cameras everywhere. In more and more homes under the concept of personal home monitoring. However all hardware can be bypassed. The Cloud has the ability to see into people's homes in realtime. Big Brother has been invited to dinner and no body cares. Cellphones, tablets and computers are constant eyes and ears to those who wish to listen. All constantly feeding the Cloud.

Legislation has passed to make legal activities that have been going on all along. CISPA, Patriot Act, and activities of the DOJ and the NSA and recently the IRS have been trivialized to a point of collective apathy. We are now monitored openly, vigorously and constantly. Is it now even possible to fall off the grid?

So who will the Cloud tell you that you are, and will you agree?

Ayah of the day.

So he [Sulaiman (Solomon)] smiled, amused at her speech and said: "My Lord! Inspire and bestow upon me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favours which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds that will please You, and admit me by Your Mercy among Your righteous slaves."

Is there a better more encompassing prayer for life.

A prayer needed for this day and time

And those who say: "Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the Muttaqun" (pious - see V. 2:2 and the footnote of V. 3:164)."

The home is where so much drama can come. There is a request in this ayah, one that is needed today.  May Allah help me learn this dua. Wives and children who cause us no grief. In a greater sense spouses. However it is the second half of the dua that is an action item. There is a lot unsaid in the ayah, but known to those who have knowledge.  I claim no such knowledge. However you must ask what does it take to be a leader of the Muttaqun? In this case your family. For if your family was Muttaqun then they would be a cooling to your eyes naturally.

What does it take to be a leader of the Muttaqun? You must certainly start by being one yourself, and don't those things that make you strong in it. You can't give what you ain't got and if it doesn't reflect from you then it is not there.

Nothing comes over night, perfect today.

Seems so simple

Successful indeed are the believers.

The first 11 ayats of surah muminoon detail how to obtain the highest Heights of Paradise and it is not incredibly overwhelming. Just a few basic things that anyone can do. Don't listen to trash talk (television, movies, some music) pray all of your prayers and on time. Honor that which has been entrusted to you. Basically do your job as a Muslim and you can get in.

Of course everyone will tell you that toy have to do extra, but those are only insurance policies in case you don't get the basics right. It's so simple. So why do we have so much problems?

Read those ayats and see what I'm talking about.

Are we doing our job?

And strive hard in Allah's Cause as you ought to strive (with sincerity and with all your efforts that His Name should be superior). He has chosen you (to convey His Message of Islamic Monotheism to mankind by inviting them to His religion, Islam), and has not laid upon you in religion any hardship, it is the religion of your father Ibrahim (Abraham) (Islamic Monotheism). It is He (Allah) Who has named you Muslims both before and in this (the Quran), that the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) may be a witness over you and you be witnesses over mankind! So perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), give Zakat and hold fast to Allah [i.e. have confidence in Allah, and depend upon Him in all your affairs] He is your Maula (Patron, Lord, etc.), what an Excellent Maula (Patron, Lord, etc.) and what an Excellent Helper!

As Muslims we must do the minor things that we are required to do. However or faith is not a religion it is a Deen. It has to affect the world around us. What is Allah's Cause in that what we are to be striving? To enjoin the good and forbid the evil. Are we doing that?

I frequent a book club at the masjid and we are currently reading Milestones by Syed Qutb and he's pretty blunt in what we are supposed to be doing, however there is an sphere of influence that we must have. It is easy to complain about what we aren't doing collectively. However it is much more difficult to effect the changes you want to make and only as a force of effecting change can you get people to move.

It is kind of like heat. When heat starts to increase it affects those that are closest to it. As the heat increases what is closest to it begins to move and either it joins in or moves to a distance of comfortability. It affects all around it both those who appreciate it and those who don't.

We only have power over our choices. We have no power over others. Holding the illusion of power over others is frustrating and will lead to madness at best. Therefore there is no sense in complaining about the Inaction of others only the Inaction of self.

We only have this moment to change something what are we going to do with it?
