Moment of reflection

I read Quran this morning Alhamdulillah. I would have kept reading but my Phone died. This verse stuck with me this morning:

26:49 Said (Pharaoh): "Believe ye in Him before I give you permission? surely he is your leader, who has taught you sorcery! but soon shall ye know!

The verses preceding this verse and following it are of the theme in which Musa is commanded to go to Pharoah. Astaghfirallah most of us are in the same position and yet choose to not act on it. Anyway I thought of the atrocities that go on in the world and reflected upon how those who are tortured go unnoticed in this world today. 24 hour news channels are nothing but seeds of apathy. Why?? Because you can't be moved all of the time, you can't be upset all of the time, you can't be riled to movement all of the time. They are meant to be overwhelming. In activism you have to have a focus. Failure to focus means loss of steam. I used to have a focus of how I was going to combat this system of distinct hubris and gross apathy. Then I became sidetracked and when I did I believe that my Deen or the intensity that I practice my deen followed.

I stopped evolving and learning and it is in this that my Deen has suffered. There is nothing like some Christians to get you off your duff and start studying your Deen, because they will not cease in attacking it. The magicians in the verse following the one above chose death when they saw the truth of Islam and in that made a statement. I'm sure the Jews that witnessed their death were moved with conviction the authenticity of these non-hebrew conversions. This probably led to the ease in which they left the city.

If we reflect on Guantanamo Bay and the senseless jailing of those brothers, The imprisonment of Jamil Alameen in Atlanta, The imprisonment of the Virginia paintball brothers, The imprisonment of Dr. (I forget his name now I will insert it after It comes to me) whom the state department completely didn't have a case for, and no substantial evidence they just jail them unjustly. After they are jailed they transport them all over America so their wives and lawyers have no Idea where they are. This is injustice. To comit yourself to fighting it is a fulltime commitment one that we all must be involved in. Everyone has a voice and every voice can be heard. It is imperative that each of us contribute to the liberation of this Deen and of the True essence of Islam.

The Hijacking of Islam is made possible by lazy persons and those forces that wish to see Islam fail. It takes no brains or compassion to set off a bomb. It takes hard work and sacrifice to represent Islam on a daily basis and call others to the Deen and set an example for all of humanity. If we all did the latter then the truth of Islam would definetely become manifest. Knowledge is the primary key to begin a revolution. Action is the secondary ingredient. Action without knowledge leads to "terrorism", Knowledge without action is only the blind blustering of blameworthy hypocritical fools. We must combine both to be effective.

This Ramadhan I make an oath to change, to define in myself my own revolution, for there are many spokes to the wheel, and ones personal revolution may not be more important than the next persons. Every movement needs generals, and Colonels and lieutentants and of course foot soldiers. There is a war that is needed, but one fought with water instead of fire. There are so many soldiers on the side of the fire there needs to be a counter balance. A balance that is cool and soothing so that those who wish to flee will have somewhere to go. If we who are Muslims can provide such a place then the future outcomes of each and every war of fire will be known, but if we decide to jump onto the side of fire and frenzy then we will all be destroyed in this life and in the hereafter.
