First Sunrise of 2008

This is not where I wanted to go to get the sunrise but when I set out for my spot I had a flat so oh well. It was a lovely sunrise anyway. I hope you like it.

  2. I have a Nikon D40. This was taken with a 70 - 200mm Nikkor Lens. It is a great little camera and you can get them now pretty cheap from some places anywhere from $200 - $450 range. I am either going to save up for a D300 next or wait until Nikon comes out with a full frame camera in the D300 form factor cause I think that the D3 is just too bulky to be carrying around. I don't want to tote that thing. I mean if I was doing weddings and what not it would be ok but not for meandering and shooting, for that the D40 is perfect cause it is so light weight. If you use the kit lens you barely feel that you are carrying it around and it is very responsive not like a point and shoot.

  3. I actually own the Nikon D40. The only thing I can't figure out is to make the focus better. When I try to focus, the red light flashes either on the left, middle or right. I have no way of controlling (or at least I am not aware of how to control it). It really sucks with close ups, it's usually out of focus and I think the problem is me!

  4. First I would go to the Ken Rockwell's joint on my links and search d40 and set yours up just like his. This should solve that problem. I really couldn't tell you what the prob is without knowing how you have it set up. If you have your focus set to dynamic area then that would be the case. I noticed that on some of my shots.
