BIBLE TRIVIA

BIBLE TRIVIA

Who is the Prophet the Jews are referring to in John 1:20, 21?

John 1:20, 21:"...and he (John the baptist) confessed and denied not but confessed, I am not the Christ. And they asked him, what then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. ART THOU THAT PROPHET? And he answered NO."

So the question is, who is THAT PROPHET? Could it be the Comforter spoke of by Jesus(Peace be upon him) in John 14:16? In John 14:16 notice the words ANOTHER COMFORTER. We are all taught to believe that this is the Holy Ghost. Referring back to ANOTHER, when did the Holy Ghost die, or, how many Holy Ghosts were there? Also when in the past did God send an Angel instead of a prophet to teach and guide large masses of people? NEVER!

The Angels sent always guided our Prophets. If God did send an Angel to teach and guide mankind, the issue would be settled at once between mankind and God, being that most of us agree that the Holy Ghost is all over the world, and it will be him to do all this teaching and convicting the world of sin (John 16:8) Therefore the Day of Judgment will have already come for God does not destroy a people who have not been taught as Jesus(Peace be upon him) has said (Matt 24:14).

Even if we suppose that it will be men filled with the Holy Ghost. We all agree that there is only one Holy Ghost, yes? So we can naturally assume that he will have one worldwide church and doctrine, yes? However, when we open up the yellow pages under churches, we must ask ourselves; which denomination does he lead, and what doctrine is he teaching?

God says in the Holy Quran 2:256: Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out Clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in God hath grasped the most trustworthy handhold, that never breaks. And God heareth and knoweth all things.

That Prophet the Jews are referring to is Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as we see in Deuteronomy 18:18.

"I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee (Moses), and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him."

Brethren of Israelites (descendants of Abraham through Isaac) are Ishmaelites (descendants of Abraham through Ishmael). Jesus (peace be upon him) is here excluded as he is an Israelite; otherwise it should be written "a Prophet from among yourselves." Jesus is furthermore excluded as he is unique there was not one like him that ever lived. Before him or after him. And even furthermore Christian Dogma equals him with God no other prophet attained this title.

Now read Deuteronomy 18:19: "And it shall come to pass that WHOSOEVER WILL NOT HEARKEN UNTO MY WORDS WHICH HE SHALL SPEAK IN MY NAME, I WILL REQUIRE IT OF HIM."

Being that God Himself places the requirement on everyone to obey this Prophet LIKE MOSES (Peace be upon him), adds to the weight of the opening question. On the Day of Judgment none will want to fall short of what He requires of us. As the facts stand there are no characters in the Bible, Prophets or otherwise that are like Moses.

So as your Muslim brethren in worship of the One true God we pray that you will follow the scripture as instructed. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-20: "This is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you (we gentiles). Quench not the spirit (the intelligence God gave us). Despise not Prophesyings (listen to all people professing to be a Prophet). Prove all things (use your intelligence to research what is true, for a falsehood can be detected with research); hold fast that which is good (which your research should prove to be Al-Islam). Read 1 John 4:1-3 Note that Al-Islam is the only non-Christian religion in the world that makes it an article of faith to believe in Jesus Christ(Peace be upon him). It is out of our love for you our brothers that we share this information with you. What you do with it at this point is between you and God, and to Him do we all return for the final decision.

We Muslims are open to dialogue. We invite you to find out more about Al-Islam. Please call the Islamic Information Office at (808) 947-6263, or visit, we are located at 1935 Aleo Pl. Manoa Valley. We invite you to open Christian/Muslim study sessions, or any other discussions to get to the pure truth.
